About FullBlackScreen.org

Last Updated: August 2026

FullBlackScreen.org is an independently operated collection of simple, browser-based display testing tools. The site helps people inspect monitors, televisions, laptops, tablets, and phones without installing software or uploading any test results.

The project is not affiliated with Google, Microsoft, Apple, display manufacturers, repair companies, or device sellers.

What the Tools Do

Each tool fills the display with a consistent solid color. Comparing black, white, red, green, blue, yellow, and gray fields can make some pixel and panel differences easier to observe.

  • Black highlights bright pixels, edge glow, and backlight bleed.
  • White makes dust, dark pixels, tint shifts, and brightness variation easier to see.
  • Red, green, and blue isolate individual color-channel behavior.
  • Gray is useful for banding, dirty-screen effect, tint, and OLED uniformity checks.

These are visual inspection aids, not laboratory instruments or a replacement for a manufacturer's diagnostic and warranty process.

How We Create and Review Content

Guidance is written for the specific testing workflow on each page and is reviewed against the behavior of common LCD, LED, OLED, and AMOLED displays. We aim to distinguish observable symptoms from conclusions that require professional testing.

Illustrations are created for this project and are labeled as generated illustrations in their alternative text or captions. We do not publish scraped articles, syndicated feeds, or embedded-only pages.

Independence and Funding

The tools are free to use. The site may use privacy-respecting analytics after a visitor gives permission and may be supported by clearly identified advertising in the future. Advertising does not determine the testing instructions or conclusions published here.
